We Will Buy Hazelnuts Above the Market Price.

Lütfi Bayraktar, Chairman of the Board of the Hazelnut Agricultural Sales Cooperatives Union (FISKOBIRLIK), stated that they have completed all preparations for the new hazelnut purchasing season.

Stating that, as in previous seasons, they will continue the cash and consignment system for the 2020 crop as well and will continue to apply a price 25-30 kuruş above free market conditions, Bayraktar said, “We plan to open the purchasing season on August 15. We may revise this date depending on the start of the harvest period and the time hazelnuts come onto the market. The Union's volume of crop purchases on the market is increasing every year. To date, we have accepted 15 thousand tons of hazelnuts from the 2019 crop from farmers. We are ready to buy all the hazelnuts brought to the institution. We call on growers to make their choice in favor of Fiskobirlik. Fiskobirlik is the growers' own union. It is a structure that they themselves own. In this respect, if the Union is strong, growers receive the value of their crop at the maximum level. In the new harvest period, our farmers should choose the Union. As Fiskobirlik, we will carry out intensive promotion and advertising activities before the new harvest.”
