Our Chairman of the Board, Mr. Lütfi Bayraktar, Meets with Journalists

OUR CHAIRMAN OF THE BOARD, MR. LÜTFI BAYRAKTAR, MET WITH JOURNALISTS 

Our Chairman of the Board, Mr. Lütfi Bayraktar, met with members of the press over breakfast in Giresun on the occasion of January 10 Working Journalists' Day.

Meeting with members of the press at the FISKOBIRLIK Integrated Social Facilities, our Chairman, Mr. Lütfi Bayraktar, underlined that journalists do a difficult job and congratulated all journalists who uphold justice and truth on Working Journalists' Day.

NEW FISKOBIRLIK-BRANDED PRODUCTS ARE COMING

In his statement, our Chairman of the Board, Mr. Lütfi Bayraktar, said that FISKOBIRLIK is moving forward well with confident steps. Noting that we have more than 25 varieties of products on the market, our Chairman, Mr. Lütfi Bayraktar, stated that a new tea brand under the name ‘’Çaytanesi’’ will soon take its place on the shelves with FISKOBIRLIK quality and standards. Our Chairman of the Board, Mr. Lütfi Bayraktar, said: ‘’Many of our new products will be launched on the market soon. New ones will be added to these products every day. We will probably have a tea coming out soon. We are creating a brand whose production we supervise ourselves. We will have a tea called ‘'Çaytanesi'’. Tea is an important product for our region, because most of our hazelnut growers also produce tea. Likewise, our FISKOBIRLIK-branded honeys have already taken their place on the shelves. The great majority of the honey producers in our region also engage in hazelnut production. We are trying to support our growers in every sense. Our number of brands will probably double within a year or two.’’

WE ARE REAPING THE REWARDS OF OUR EFFORTS

Stating that they have begun to reap the rewards of the labor and work put in over the last 15 years, our Chairman of the Board, Mr. Lütfi Bayraktar, underlined that FISKOBIRLIK could double its current employment and investments if it is not obstructed. Our Chairman, Mr. Lütfi Bayraktar, stated: ‘’As FISKOBIRLIK, we are doing well. We can now stand on our own feet. We got here by making use of our own material and moral resources. We will continue in the same way from this point on. We have learned to stand on our own feet and to be self-sufficient. From now on, we will continue to serve our member growers in a stronger and more determined manner.’’  

THE OWNERS OF FISKOBIRLIK ARE THE MEMBERS OF FISKOBIRLIK

Noting that there have recently been a number of public controversies regarding FISKOBIRLIK's land and projects, our Chairman of the Board, Mr. Lütfi Bayraktar, emphasized that it would be in the interest of member hazelnut growers for local governments and public institutions to take a stance in favor of FISKOBIRLIK on this matter. Underlining that the owners of FISKOBIRLIK are the members of FISKOBIRLIK, our Chairman, Mr. Lütfi Bayraktar, said that the sole competent authority is the FISKOBIRLIK delegation elected by our member growers through democratic elections, and its representatives, the Chairman and Members of the Board. Also touching on the recent land allocation dispute with Giresun University, our Chairman of the Board, Mr. Lütfi Bayraktar, stated that Giresun University has the power to expropriate the land of the Integrated plant in the public interest, and that it could use this power to expropriate the land of the Giresun Integrated Hazelnut Processing Plant.  

TMO SHOULD NOT RELEASE THE HAZELNUTS IT PURCHASES ONTO THE MARKET WITHIN THE SAME SEASON

Also commenting on the hazelnut purchasing activities of the TMO, our Chairman of the Board, Mr. Lütfi Bayraktar, said: ‘’The Turkish Grain Board is performing an important and difficult task. As an institution, they are making intensive efforts in this regard. However, intervention purchasing has certain conditions, and I was not of the opinion that these conditions were being observed. An institution that carries out intervention purchases should not sell the hazelnuts it purchased that year by the same means and method. Otherwise, intervention purchasing would be rendered completely meaningless.’’
