Make Your Choice in Favor of Fiskobirlik.

FISKOBIRLIK has accelerated its 2020 hazelnut purchasing campaign. Having launched its hazelnut purchasing campaign before TMO, FISKOBIRLIK buys growers' crops right from the drying yard. Purchasing crops under free market conditions, FISKOBIRLIK pays growers in cash if they wish, or takes their hazelnuts on consignment if they prefer.

FISKOBIRLIK Board Member and Giresun Chamber of Agriculture Chairman Nurittin Karan said that they ask hazelnut growers to make their choice in favor of FISKOBIRLIK. Karan stated that the Union is the hazelnut growers' own organization.

Stating that in the new harvest period, as in previous seasons, FISKOBIRLIK is applying a purchase price 25 kuruş above market conditions, Karan said that this year, for the first time, a special purchase price model of 50 kuruş for members has been put into practice.

Pointing out that the Union will become even stronger if it is supported and embraced by farmers, Karan said, "We always believe that FISKOBIRLIK, our own organization, must be supported. I want all of the hazelnut growers in Giresun to bring all of their hazelnuts to FISKOBIRLIK and deliver them." Asking growers not to rush in bringing their hazelnuts to market, Karan commented, "We think the Giresun crop will turn out far below the estimates. Indeed, the statements of the chamber chairmen we have spoken with in other regions of Türkiye are along the same lines. Of course, we will see how large the crop is in the coming days. Since our growers' crop is small, they should not be in too much of a hurry. We ask them not to bring their hazelnuts to market all at once.”

Grower Fahri Uzun, who delivered his crop to Fiskobirlik, said, "We have completed the first stage of our 2020 hazelnut harvest. We spread our hazelnuts on the drying yard, dried them, and bagged them. We made our delivery by choosing our national organization, FISKOBIRLIK. God willing, it will be beneficial. When we compared it with the free market and other institutions, we saw that the price was above theirs, and our choice was Fiskobirlik. Everyone is pleased, because the prevailing view among growers is that this price is a floor price for the grower and that it will go up with a good delivery policy.”
