Fiskobirlik and Marmarabirlik Held Talks on Joining Forces

Fiskobirlik and Marmarabirlik, two of the country's leading cooperatives, took an important step toward establishing cooperation. Marmarabirlik Chairman of the Board Hidamet Asa visited Fiskobirlik Chairman of the Board Lütfi Bayraktar, and the steps to be taken regarding cooperation between the two institutions as well as projects that could bring Turkish agriculture to the fore in the global agricultural market were discussed.

Stating that cooperatives joining forces would make a great contribution to production, Marmarabirlik Chairman of the Board Hidamet Asa said, "It makes us happy to see that Fiskobirlik is increasing its purchases with each passing day and adding to its strength by moving to a new structuring model in exports. We would also like to share our joy on behalf of hazelnut growers. We would like to express that we are ready for every kind of information exchange and cooperation between Marmarabirlik and Fiskobirlik, including technical infrastructure. Within the scope of the slogan 'Fiskobirlik and Marmarabirlik hand in hand,' bringing the other Unions into this circle as well and forming an alliance on behalf of our growers will make a great contribution to Turkish agriculture and agricultural production."

Fiskobirlik Chairman of the Board Lütfi Bayraktar, for his part, expressed his pleasure at Hidamet Asa's visit, saying, "Marmarabirlik has become an important brand both in our country and around the world. This position pleases us greatly, as it does everyone. I congratulate the Chairman and Marmarabirlik on their successes. For a Cooperative Union to reach this point is a source of pride for us, as it is for everyone. I believe these successes will continue to grow exponentially."

Emphasizing that Marmarabirlik and Fiskobirlik are the driving forces of the cooperative movement in Türkiye, Bayraktar said, "In order to carry the cooperative movement in our country further forward and to voice its problems more loudly, all unions must urgently come together and establish common ground. As Fiskobirlik and Marmarabirlik, we are ready to shoulder the responsibility to form an alliance and to sustain it.
