A Helping Hand from FISKOBIRLIK to Izmir

The Hazelnut Agricultural Sales Cooperatives Union (FISKOBIRLIK) provided food aid to earthquake victims in Izmir.

Following the earthquake that occurred off the coast of the Aegean Sea on October 30 and claimed the lives of 114 of our citizens, the Hazelnut Agricultural Sales Cooperatives Union (FISKOBIRLIK) provided food aid to earthquake victims by taking part in the ‘'Bridge of Hearts from Giresun to Izmir'' aid campaign organized by the Giresun Governorship's Social Assistance and Solidarity Directorate.

Extending a helping hand to the earthquake victims in Izmir, FISKOBIRLIK supported the campaign carried out under the leadership of the Giresun Governorship with a truckload of food aid. The aid, which was loaded at its Integrated Plant in Giresun and set off, will be delivered to those in need following the work to be carried out by public institutions and organizations in Izmir.

In his written statement, FISKOBIRLIK Chairman of the Board Lütfi Bayraktar said, ‘'First of all, I pray for God's mercy upon our citizens who lost their lives in the earthquake disaster, offer my condolences to their families, their loved ones, and our nation, and wish a speedy recovery to the injured. As FISKOBIRLIK, we are ready for every kind of aid and support. After the earthquake, we quickly got in touch with our public institutions. We informed them that we were ready to help and support. Afterwards, as a first step, we provided 1 truckload of food aid within the scope of the aid campaign organized by the Giresun Governorship. In the coming weeks, we will continue our aid according to need. I have no doubt that, as a nation, we will overcome this disaster too by joining hands. May God never let our country and our nation experience such pain again.''
